Blessings,
It deffinately has been a long time since my last post. I have been so busy with programing and uploading music to Global Southern Gospel Radio. Please visit us at www.globalsoutherngospel.com. This is my new adventure. Also have been doing a little song writing. Was in the studio on July 9th recording soundtracks for some of the songs the Lord laid on my heart to write. Just need a little finances to do a new project. Help me pray that the Lord sends the finances my way!! He give me the songs now I need to record them.
Well it is that time of the year again. The NQC is fast approching. The emails will start coming in soon. I have already received a few. If I had that kind of money to spend on all of the offers for NQC, I would not need money for a CD.
I got an email from a group that is nationally recording and are charting. They were asking for people to donate money for them to be able to do a CD. What are your thoughts on that? Do you think artist should email people asking for donations for them to do a project? While I do have a donation page on my website, I do not know if I could email people asking them to donate. I am not saying it is wrong for them to do it. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Blessing,
Sorry for not posting sooner. I have had the opportunity to operate my own radio station and it has been keeping me busy. Brother Randy Renigar of Global Southern Gospel Radio has put his station into my hands for a short while. I did not realize that much was involved in an internet radio station. Please keep brother Randy in your prayers and hope that he will recover very soon.
I am asking for your prayers as well. I have put the music ministry on hold the last couple of months trying to give my voice a chance to recover. I have been having voice problems due to alergies and Gerd. It has effected my voice since November. It is slowly getting better. I am looking forward to getting some bookings and singing for the Lord again! Thanks for all your prayers.

Blessings,
Sorry for not posting in so long. I have had voice problems from Thanksgiving up until now. I have not had a lot of bookings due to the problems with my voice. I am getting better now.
In January I sailed on the Goodlife Gospel Cruise. As usual it was a blessed time. Even though I was still having voice problems, the Lord allowed me to sing for His honor and glory on the cruise. Dave and Eddie as usual were wonderful host. I met some new artist on the boat. Mr. Ed Walters was a blessing. As usual the Gabbards were a blessing. Also met a wonderful and blessed singer from Florida named Rachel Renee. She had such a wonderful tesimony. After about a year of communication through email, I finnally got to meet my friend from Alabama, Mrs Joyce Summers and her brother Preston Haddock.
In 2008 we will be sailing for seven days to Alaska!! Visit My website for details on the cruise.
This will be a short post this time. I have some exciting news that I will be posting soon.

Blessings,
Sorry for the long delay in posting. Hope you all had a very blessed Thanksgiving. I know I sure did. No cooking, just plenty of eating. Eating at my brother-in-laws for lunch and then at my niece's house for dinner. When I arrived at my niece's house, we were informed of some guest that would be arriving soon to join the family in enjoying our Thanksgving feast. We were going to have the pleasure of meeting two gentleman from Austria that were in the states for a business trip. She preped us on some issues to not discuss. Do not ask them about Kangeroos. It seems that people get Austria and Australia mixed up. The other issue to not discuss, was Gemany. I did not ask why not to discuss Germany even though their native language was German.
My brother arrives about the same time the two gentleman arrives and was not informed of the issues to not discuss. My neice must had forgotten that my brother was stationed in Germany for two years. So you know how the story goes. My brother talked about and ask questions about Germany. I noticed one of the gentleman was very quiet. I finnally realized he could not speak English. We finnally got the subject changed.
Martin was the gentleman's name that could speak english and Godfrey was the gentleman's name that could only speak German. Martin stated that in Austria gas is $5.00 per gallon in american money. A liter bottle of soda is $2.00. Martin stated that they keep check on the air quality in their country. If it gets too dirty, everything shuts down a day or two. You could not drive for a day or two until it got back to appropriate levels. They do not have Southern Gospel or Country Gospel Music. Music is very different than it is here.
I did not ask about the foods that they eat in their country. My Nephew had already been to Austria and had told me that they eat more healthier than we do. Yes, they have a McDonalds. No made to order Hambugers. You get what they fix. If you ask for a pack of ketchup, it will cost you extra. Martin did say that soft drinks were served without ice. You had to request ice and may get about two cubes. I am sure Martin must have eaten deviled eggs before. He seem to enjoy them and so did Godfrey. The thing that was most curious to Martin and Godfrey was the cranberry sauce. They were a little hesitant to try it. They are not the only ones. Not a cranberry fan myself.
As I was shopping in Lowes Home Improvement today,as I went down the isle,I noticed two familar faces. It was Martin and Godfrey. Martin told me that they would be going home next week. We agreed there is no place like home. Martin travels over 200 days a year and Godfrey travels about 50 days a year. They want to be home for Christmas. Yes, there's no place like home.

Blessings,
This past weekend Sweetpea and I had a wonderful and blessed time at the Wa-Floy retreat in Gatlinburg TN. This is where Jesus in the Smokie's sing is held in the Chapel located on the grounds. Steve and Carolyn Nichols of smokymountiangsopel.com had a vision for a worship service for the smokies. 11+ Million souls visit the Smokies anually and Steve and Carolyn had a burning desire to reach lost souls. Their friends Jerry and Peggy Bell help make this vision possible. Jerry and Peggy are the owners of Wa-Floy retreat. After much prayer Jerry and Peggy called Steve and Carolyn on March 11th 2006 and said lets go for it!
The singings are free to the public and are held every Friday and Saturday night. Open mike is usually on Friday night and Saturday from 2:00 until 6:00. Main singings start at 7:00 PM. It is not your typical agenda. You will not see a love offering plate for the Artist or groups performing. Never a charge for the singing. This is also a getaway for Artist to come together and relax and uplift one another. Let me say, there is no TVs, hot tubs, and other luxuries that you will find in a hotel. Nope, even have to bring you own towels, soap, etc. It is a getaway to keep your mind away from the cares of this world and keep you mind totally on the Lord. It is a beautiful and peaceful place.
One of the Highlights of the weekend was meeting Valor. They were singing downtowm in Gatlinburg, TN earlier Saturday evening and just decided to drop by. These guys have a genuine heart and a sweet spirit for the Lord. These Guys have amazing talent and anoiting. I was blessed to meet them. I was once told that you can not pay yourself into the Southern Gospel Music Industry. Not so! You can pay to have your songs spotlighted on a network of Stations. Even pay for an Artist Breakout Party and interactive advertisement on the web. You can pay for a whole page advertisement or an article about your ministry in one of todays prominate Gospel News Magazine.
I have read many blogs about the problem with Southern Gospel Music Radio and the "no talent" or what they would call "mediocur talent" played on gospel radio. Most of that problem is caused by what I stated in the previous paragraph. I am sure if you are an artist you have gotten the same emails from companies like I have. The industry is getting so money hungry. One company emailed an offer to be played on many stations along with a live listening party and of course advertisement on their website. The price was way out of my budget. Another company and I must add a very well respected and prominent record company made an offer to me to put a song on their next compilation along with three months radio promotions. I will not name the two companies or their fees, but I will tell you that the cost between the two would pay for me a brand new Cd and radio promotions for three months with most record companies. I just wonder if the company with all the radio stations would play my Cd if I sent them a Cd for free. If I am talented enough to play on you stations for a fee, than I am good enough to play on your stations for free.
I really liked this email that I got. A certain gentleman emailed me to tell me that I was extremely talented in his words and he wanted to know where I have been all of this time. When I emailed him to let him know that I did not have the funds to spend with his company, I deffinately did not get a response. I emailed him back to ask if I could use his quote about my music on my website. After all this was one of the best in the business and who would not want a quote from him about your music on your website. Of couse I did not receive a return email back granting me that permission.
Do not get me wrong, I know it is a busness and businesses have to make money. Many new up and coming artist and uknown artist do not have the funds to pay for some of the "going over the board prices" that are ask of them. Most live from one booking to the next. The money that we might get from one booking is put back in to use for travel and expenses for the next booking. If you think I have talent give me a break to start with and build from there. If you do not think I have talent and you just email or call me for business just because you need some more clients or money, please do not bother to contact me. If you think I am good enough to pay you to get played on your stations, than I am good enough to be played on you stations for free. I would be glad to send you a Cd for free at my expense. People use the terms "advertisement" or "sponsors" to get by legally without calling it payola. I still call it payola if I am having to pay to play. Please do not use or abuse the not so known artist. You are using the name of Jesus to get your business. Why not consult in Him for all of your decisions.
After stating all of this, I must say that there is a few honest people in the Southern Gospel Business that I have come accross that I have and will do business with.
God Bless. Until next time.

Blessings,
Its been a long time since my last post. Wew! Things has been upside down around my house. In June my beloved sister-in-law was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. The family has had some time coping with the lost. The Lord is good! When things seems at its worse, He always shines through. Sometimes you might not know the reason until some time down the road. But Jesus knows best. My husband Sweetpea is coping very well right now with the loss. He has his days, but he keeps himself very busy. I just put my trust in the Lord every day.
The group I joined in April has had a lot of medical problems. I have not been out with them since April. Please pray for them. Their name is Faithwalk. It seems to be such a dry season for me. I haven't been out singing much. I just want the Lord's will to be done in my life. During this time I have had a lot of time to reflect back on the ministry the Lord had given me and I sometimes question myself, why am I going through a dry season? The Lord is so faithful and I have realized why. I have never been able to write much songs since my ministry begain some 5+ years ago . I had written a few songs last year when I was going through a crisis in my life. I did not at the time realize that the Lord was blessing me with another gift. Oh how I yearned to write songs. The Lord has showed through what I thought was a dry spell that I have been to rushed with my life for him to give me anymore. I realized I had to slow down in order to fully hear His Voice. Oh Yes I pray everyday and seek the Lord everyday, but I realized I was also living in the fast lane. To fast to slow down and let him give me a word in song of my own. So, during this dry spell, I have written 7 songs that the Lord has laid on my heart. I am beginning to realize for every season, there is a reason.
